The Gunners haven't gone beyond the last 16 of the Champions League since they reached the quarter-finals under Arsène Wenger in 2010. The team they beat to reach that stage? FC Porto, with a 6-2 aggregate win after going down 2-1 away from home.

The Gunners mark their return to the knockout stages of the European top flight nearly seven years later, as Mikel Arteta's men cruised through as Group B leaders.

Jurrien Timber has been included Arteta's squad for the UCL knockouts despite still recovering from an ACL injury, while Thomas Partey and Fabio Vieira are ruled out due to their respective setbacks.

Porto are regulars at this stage of the competition and came through a group that also included Barcelona, Shakhtar Donetsk and Royal Antwerp. They currently sit third in the Portuguese league - seven points off leaders Sporting Lisbon.
Arteta also added: "We know how tricky it is. We’ve been two or three months out of the competition and now we are going to face a really different stage of it. All the teams are very, very tough, we have little time to prepare the games, and the ball is rolling. You have to be very ready because ethe teams are very prepared and very dangerous.
Arteta's injury list is unchanged ahead of the trip to Portugal with Takehiro Tomiyasu and Gabriel Jesus not quite ready to return for the visitors. However, Thomas Partey and Fabio Vieira have returned to team training this week and could be in line to feature in the squad, although it seems unlikely they will be rushed back.
